Neria’s Post-Cosmetic Care — The Foundation and Purpose Behind Her Method

Neria was already an established professional massage therapist in 1996 when she began working in post-cosmetic care in Brazil. This marked the foundation of her expertise in post-cosmetic care and tissue response following cosmetic procedures.
It was also in Brazil that Neria began her formal studies in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, gaining early exposure to techniques that would later become part of her broader, more comprehensive approach.
Before relocating to the United States, Neria continued refining her skills at Angela Spa & Estética in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil, further deepening her experience in aesthetic and post-cosmetic care.
However, it was in Marin County, over 28 years ago, that her true commitment and purpose became clear. Providing post-cosmetic care, tailored to support recovery following procedures. Neria identified a significant gap in post-cosmetic care. Many clients were not informed about that supportive care, and in some cases, their surgeons did not recommend or fully understand the role of post-cosmetic care.
Since 1998, Neria has been serving Marin County, providing post-cosmetic care through a structured approach incorporating Brazilian MLD and manual techniques for lumps, bumps, and fibrosis. She also encountered situations where some surgeons were initially unfamiliar with her approach, yet became supportive after observing the positive outcomes in their patients—even without fully understanding the methods. These experiences further strengthened her commitment and ultimately led her to fully devote herself to post-cosmetic care.
Clients consistently note that Neria’s method differs from traditional MLD they have previously experienced. Neria’s method is distinct because it has been shaped through decades of hands-on experience. She understands that post-cosmetic care is not a fixed protocol or formula to be followed, but a highly individualized process.
Each client heals differently, and her approach is adapted with precision to support the unique needs of every stage of recovery.
A frequently asked question is: why does post-cosmetic care MLD cost more than regular MLD?
Post-cosmetic care MLD is not performed using the same technique as traditional non-procedural MLD. It requires a specialized clinical application tailored to post-surgical recovery. In addition, post-cosmetic care requires at least five different techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Throughout her professional journey, Neria has worked in both clinical and spa settings in Brazil and Marin County, California, where she was also known as “Marie” during her time in the United States. Alongside this, she has always maintained an independent practice as the founder and business owner of her own brand. Since 2012, she has been based in San Rafael, and in 2018, she chose to dedicate her work exclusively to her own practice, allowing her to deliver her method with full integrity, consistency, and focus.
Neria continued her education in the United States, obtaining her massage certification and expanding her knowledge through multiple specialized training programs. She also pursued studies in Manual Lymphatic Drainage across several schools worldwide, continuously developing her expertise. She has studied with respected institutions, including the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy, while maintaining strong roots in Brazilian post-cosmetic care techniques, widely recognized for their advanced aesthetic approach.
Neria has also continued her studies in post-cosmetic care and has been guided by mentorship in Brazil, further strengthening her professional approach.
Neria’s Post-Cosmetic Care Method reflects more than years of training—it represents decades of hands-on experience, continuous learning, and a deep understanding of the body’s response following cosmetic procedures. Her purpose has always been to provide individualized care that respects each client’s unique recovery process, combining knowledge, precision, and experience to support their journey after cosmetic procedures.
